More Renewals at Learning Centre
The number of times that staff and students can renew books has been increased from 10 to 15. This is partly in response to the new arrangement for borrowing books over the summer period. Loanable items will be issued as normal during the summer period - week loan for one week, long loan for four weeks, part time loan for two weeks. This change in policy reflects the changing patterns of study, and the needs of our many students who are taught outside of the standard semesters.Any questions on these changes, please contact us.

Recording TV programmes
Did you know that we can record programmes from television for use in your lectures? All you need to do is let us know the title of the programme and when it is due to be broadcast (with as much advance notice as possible please) ... and we can do the rest. Programmes are recorded onto DVD and made available to borrow from the Learning Centre. You can search for upcoming programmes, and even set up alerts for future programmes of interest, by using the TRILT database (available through LitSearch). You can find out which programmes we've already recorded by using the Media Search option in our Library Catalogue.Programmes which have been recorded can also be shown over a period of days or weeks on our own LCTV channels here in the Learning Centre. This saves you having to take time to show them in class.More information about all of the above is available on the Staff Intranet or you can contact Geoff on ext 2122 or via e-mail at: g.p.russell@shu.ac.uk
